The Jesus Christ Lizard

1. The Jesus Christ Lizard is also know as the Basilisk .
2. These kind of lizards are usually found in the Central South American rain forests. 
3. They have got this name as they have got the special ability to run on the surface of the water unlike other lizards.
4. They are mostly found in the trees which is located near water body.
5. Theses lizards are excellent swimmers and have got the ability to live underwater up to 30 minutes.
6. Average life span 10 years .
7. The new born lizards have the ability to run ( on water & land ) , swim and climb.
8. Basilisk are omnivorous and hence feeds on plant materials , insects , smaller species of lizard.
9. Grows up to 2 feet ( 61 centimeters ).
10. When threaten can , they can drop from a tree to water and sprint, upright above 5 feet (1.5 meter ) .
